Adekunbi Lahanmi
Office Coordinator
Adekunbi's path to integrative medicine began with her own frustrating experiences with traditional Western approaches. After years spent pursuing nursing and PA studies, a personal health challenge left her feeling unheard and dismissed by specialists who couldn't provide answers. This experience redirected her toward acupuncture — a modality completely new to her Nigerian American family and community. "I'm literally the first one in my circle that's even doing this," she says.
Adekunbi is now studying acupuncture at Pacific College while working as an office coordinator at Jennifer Layne Acupuncture and Wellness. She creates the warm first impression that defines patients' experiences and takes pride in building genuine relationships, remembering names, and maintaining conversations that make patients feel truly welcomed. "I want to be a part of that growing community of African American women that are natural healers," she says, "and help create another space for those who didn't feel their concerns were addressed by modern medicine.”
